Where to Elope in Utah

So you’re eloping in Utah…and you’ve realized there are so many options for a location!
Utah has everything - iconic landscapes, mountain vistas, desert vibes, stunning luxury venues - for the elopement of your dreams. And as a Utah Elopement Photographer I’ve compiled a list of my favorite locations for you to choose from.

National Parks

Utah is lucky to be home to five stunning national parks - all of which allow elopements! Utah’s Mighty Five all are known for their red rock formations, desert scenery, and hiking trails. Most have designated areas that they allow for ceremonies with guests, but we are allowed to explore and photograph you in more secluded areas of the park before and/or after your vows. National Parks are perfect for the adventurous explorers, or those less adventurous who just want a stunning background since most have very accessible areas as well!

ARCHES NATIONAL PARK

Arches National Park is perfect for the quintessential red rock elopement with arches, rock formations, and campgrounds . Learn more about permits here.

ZION NATIONAL PARK

With red rock cliffs and green valleys, Zion has so many stunning views and incredible locations. See permit details.

CANYONLANDS NATIONAL PARK

Known for its vast, rugged beauty, this park is perfect for couples who crave adventure. Explore wedding options here.

CAPITOL REEF NATIONAL PARK

A lesser-known gem, this park provides striking landscapes with fewer crowds. Check out permit info.

BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK

With its surreal hoodoo formations, Bryce Canyon is a whimsical and otherworldly location. Learn more here.

Desert

Utah is known for its minimal, otherworldly desert views - here are some amazing state parks and recreation areas for your elopement.

ANTELOPE ISLAND

Located in the Great Salt Lake, this state park is a simple western desert dream.

DEAD HORSE POINT

Dead Horse Point is one of the most accessible and most stunning red rock viewpoints in southern Utah. With many secluded locations nearby, it is one of my favorite spots for a cliffside elopement with red rock views for miles.

LITTLE SAHARA

Little Sahara is a campground and sand dune recreation area! Perfect for a minimalist adventure elopement - the sand dunes go on for miles and you can cozy up around the fire after sundown.

LAKE POWELL

Lake Powell is a man made reservoir with blue water surrounded by red rock - making it a beautiful elopement backdrop. The area is popular for hiking, boating, off roading, and near to the famous Antelope Canyon. While it is a popular area, there are endless secluded locations and stunning views.

BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS

The Salt Flats are a famous, unique Utah location with miles of white salt surrounded by mountains. It is perfect for a modern, minimal elopement, and even though the Salt Flats are popular, there is so much room for privacy and views.

Mountains

The mountains are a perfect elopement backdrop for couples at any adventure level. There are many canyons and hikes all within short distances of Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Provo (all of which have airports!). Say I Do in a wildflower field, lush forest, in front of an alpine lake, or on top of a summit.

BIG & LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYONS

These iconic canyons are home to pristine alpine lakes, dramatic peaks, and romantic forests. Located in Wasatch-Cache National Forest, both canyons are home to ski resorts and have endless hikes and summits for private vows, and many campgrounds and ski lodges for somewhere to celebrate after.

PARK CITY

Park City is nestled in the middle of the mountains - a great spot for couples who want a mix of natural beauty and a lively après-ski vibe. There are many hiking trails, ski areas, and high end spots for food & drinks.

AMERICAN FORK CANYON

This canyon is a mountain fairytale with gorgeous views and so much natural beauty. Most of the canyon is well trafficked - but I have a lot of secluded hiking trails and lakes that I’ve scouted for my couples for a more private experience.

PROVO CANYON

Provo Canyon is popular for skiing, snowmobiling, biking, rafting, fishing, and hiking and offers stunning mountain views, rocky waterfalls, and large secluded open meadows. Provo Canyon offers views of and access to Mt. Timpanogos - a famous peak that contains Timpanogos Cave National Monument.

UINTA MOUNTAINS

For couples craving seclusion and adventure, the Uinta Mountains are popular for hiking, backpacking, climbing, and pristine alpine lakes. This area is full of campgrounds, forests, and mountain peaks and has endless options for elopements.
